August 2008

We are pleased to announce that we are now over 4 years old, and you can see our growing list of kudos from clients who gained interest from VCs and other investors after sending a query.  Our client list even includes the U.S. Department of Commerce and clients from Hong Kong, who have used our service four times.   We have helped clients prepare their business plans and financials to show to investors interested in learning more.

Now that we have continued to grow, we have offices in L.A. in Santa Monica and in Oakland, California.

We now have over 15,000 venture capitalists and private investors categorized by industry, stage and amount of funding, and geographic areas of interest.  We use these categories to match the funding you are seeking and investor interests.   We have recently added a new database of over 400 registered investment advisors.

The service is part of a network of 9 very successful Websites that link clients to decision-makers in these industries: publishing, films, music, toys and games, gifts and stationery products, the speaking industry, the media, and inventors seeking manufacturers.  You can see more details about the sale on our Making Connections Website.

We have recently completed our quarterly database update.  One reporter who used our service is syndicating an article about us (also in Word and PDF formats).

Some of the clients for whom we have done queries and have gotten a good response are:

  •  The U.S. government seeking connections for a delegation of senior executives from the Hong Kong film industry looking for U.S. partners and investors.  They have used our service 4 times now.

  •  A small, profitable Internet company seeking expansion capital.

  •  A service that connects individuals and companies with others in the industry.

  •  A film producer seeking funding for a film scheduled for shooting in the Fall 2008.

  •  An inventor seeking investors in his energy-saving invention.

  •  A roofing company seeking expansion capital for energy-saving roofing material.

  •  A builder with a new patented product that will speed up construction for the professional builder and homeowner.

  •  A self-help publisher seeking capital to take his publication worldwide.

  •  A real estate company seeking funding to invest in new properties around the U.S.

  •  The head of a yacht company seeking funds to expand into other markets.

  •  A start-up helicopter commuter service -- the Heliflyer

From our client feedback, on average, about 15-25 investors express interest in seeing further information, usually a business plan, though some have gotten over 100 responses.
