 Starlight
Capital is an
agent-only investment bank specializing in four industries:
communications/IT, energy, finance/banking, and real estate.
It has about 20 licensed professionals in eight states and
specializes in early
and mid-stage investments. It helps private and and
publicly held clients raise private equity and debt through
private placements, direct participation programs, and private
equity for public entities.
Funds raised from
private equity and debt are usually in the $1-20 million range,
and institutional rounds can be higher. In addition, the
company is involved in real estate investment trusts, consulting
on mergers and acquisitions, organizing investment events, and
outsourced sales and marketing.
Brian Emerson, the
President of Starlight Capital, is also serving a 3 year term
with NASD on its District VI committee and is on the national
NASD technology committee. NASD registers virtually every
securities firm doing business with the U.S. under federal law
-- a total of about 5160 brokerage firms and over 660,000
registered securities representatives.
He has had extensive financial, marketing and project management
experience in a variety of international high- and
low-technology industries, with multi-national companies,
entrepreneurial ventures, and as an accredited investor. At one
time, while living in Mexico City and working all over Latin
America for 10 years, he helped to develop five small
telecommunications companies into a global firm which grew to
$150 million. He is also active in the
community in Houston in expanding educational, investment, and
business development opportunities, including serving on board
and advisory positions at Rice University, University of
Houston, Houston Achievement Place, and Aegis Capital Group.
